How Send Out Cards Saved Christmas!

Got this story last week from my Aunt/SOC customer. With her permission I have posted it here.
***********************
Hi Phyllis,

Well the complication this year was that we had to replace both our home desktop and our lap top with new computers with windows 7. (We got awful virus' in both of them.) Then, I assumed that I could just install my photoshop elements 4.0 and my camera picture program that's also at least 5 years old. But Windows 7 doesn't work like XP. And my photo shop is 4.0. I went on line and got info on how to put RUN in the directory since it doesn't come on Windows 7. I was able to install RUN but the computer does not recognize either my old camera program or old photoshop CD program. So I go on google again and they talk about downloading a vista program that translates both and gets your old programs up on windows 7. That was too much info that goes over my head. In the meantime, I had copied all my addresses on my old PC using WordPerfect. Now I can't find any of those documents on my new computer with the new Word and I can't pull up my addresses for Christmas cards.

So I gave up on pictures, and some addresses, but because I've got significant addresses on my Send Out Cards program and a few more in my regular address book, I made a nice 2 page card for under a $1.00 and I'm happy. So Thanks to the Send Out Cards program. Now I'll make it through the holidays.

Cordie

Now if only I had told her to try to get on the system at 6am!! Please bear with the slowness of the system during this month... This week they expect to have a 500,000 card day!! That's incredible! And STILL only a handful of people know about this!

Holiday Campaigns

This is a quick 2 minute inspirational video about getting your holiday campaign going.  Last year I set up my campaign in October, it's too late to do that again this year, but I think I'm going to try harder next year.  Getting your list together, setting up a campaign, sending yourself a sample, and then sending out the cards is a process, but is not difficult!

If you need instruction on how to do this, watch the video in the training videos on your main menu.  If you need more help please don't hesitate to call 719-371-7125.

Please note : We will have a conference call Sunday, Dec 5th at 7pm MST, to answer all your questions on creating a campaign.  The dial-in number is (605) 477-2100 with a access code of 45804#.  Please join us for some inspiration!

Edit your Profile Photo.

In case you were not aware, in June 2010 Send Out Cards had a major upgrade of the system. At that time they set all distributors up with two personal pages. The "old" page (which actually looks nothing like the "old" page) is what you used to have and where you introduce new people to SOC. That is still at http://www.sendoutcards.com/Your_user_ID_or_Nickname. That was redesigned at that time and is now very simple with 3 steps and no distractions.

The new page everyone was given is at http://www.sSOCRetail.com/Your_user_ID_or_Nickname. This is the site where you can refer someone to send a card without a membership for $2.99. This site takes a little bit of setup, which you can do from your main menu, management tools, Personalize your profile. This is where you define your nickname (personalized URL). On this page you can add a blurb with your story, a small bit of information about your Send Out Cards Journey, or anything else you think might catch an eye (all clean please). This is where you set up how many point and expense a Gift Account get and how many gift accounts to allow (this number need to be check periodically BTW, as it goes down as gift accounts are given away). And this is where you add a Profile Photo.

Adding your profile photo is a little more tricky than you would think, and than it should be. The photo needs to be a certain dimension (300x300) and needs to be rotated at 4 degrees counter clockwise. To help you get the desired results I have posted a template to the Team Resources page of this blog. It is a template for photoshop (sorry for those that is not helpful for) and the instructions are included within. Let me know if that is helpful to you.

Michele's bi-weekly Interviews

Michele Reynolds (2 upline from me) is a powerhouse woman! Much like myself she is involved with many things, has a resume business, has a virtual assistance business, supports all sorts of organizations that support women in business. Oh and lets not forget Send Out Cards. She is on her way to Executive, which I think will happen very soon. She is a networking machine. Anyhow, in case you have not been following along, I wanted to raise your awareness to her bi-weekly interviews, every other Tuesday morning 8:30-9:30am.

Since Convention Michele has decided to interview as many power players in Send Out Cards as she can get to join her, with the goal of writing a book at the end of the series.. What a fabulous venture, and she is perfect for it.

I previously posted the interview with Kenton and Ricky Pass on this blog's team resources page, and today am posting the interview she did a few weeks ago with Dr. Phil and Pinky, and then yesterdays interview with Kathy Paauw. I only want to post resources that I think are actually helpful to you, so therefore I don't want to blindly post all the interviews, but all of Michele's interviews have been fabulous.

Dr. Phil and Pinky are current superstars in SOC. They showed up at the convention as one of the newest Executives after having been in the business only 4.5 months!! Incredible! AND they did it while he continued his two medical practices, continued his soccer coaching for his 3 boys, and worked out 1.5 hours per day. He did it because he could see the direction his medical practices were heading in this economy, and the stability to earn the income from those practices was becoming questionable. So no more excuses gang! Listen to his interview and practice what the leaders are doing!

The next interview, with Kathy Paauw, is the main reason I am writing this blog today. Kathy has been in Send Out Cards for a number of years now and is an Executive. She is an expert business coach and has put together a website of resources for her team - and for us too. The website is at http://eaglestraining.info and the password is eaglestraining. Specifically in the call she calls attention to Distributor Training item #6, managing your follow-up. This has been an area of particular challenge to me lately. I am pushing through it but could certainly use her advise. Here she has recorded webinars of two ways to manage the follow up.

She also talks about another site she maintains that is not Send Out Cards related, but a site dedicated to helping you get organized. That is at http://www.orgcoach.net. She has regular teleconference you might find helpful as well as recorded calls form the past. Crazy lot of information on the web, eh?

Another gem of the call was the campaign account that Kathy keeps to share with others. To get there got to http://www.sendoutcards.com. Sign in with the username "oprius1" password "12345". This will give you access to the campaigns that Kathy uses. Do not edit or use these campaigns on this site, but share them with your own account. There are some good ideas in there. Damarr also has an account he shares campaigns. His account "cardshare" password "cards". The other campaign sharing site (where you can add your campaigns) is username "allcampaigns" password "12345".

This is a great time to get familiar with campaigns, as it is the best way to do your Xmas cards. Chad's Tuesday night call is once a month on campaigns. Unfortunately that was last night, but lots of other options for that training. I'll blog about that soon.

If you want notice of Michele's Interview calls, just friend her on Facebook. That is Michele Reynolds. I'm stopping now, cause I'm sure you have brain overload!

Re-dedication

I have been on the road since September 27. This is my final week away from home and I am in Albuquerque. Albuquerque is where my kids and my parents live, and so it is my home away from home. Since my Mom, is a distributor on my team, we are having a Send Out Cards week to help get her business started. We are having two Opportunity meetings, and scheduling as many one on one's as possible. It is a great way to end a month of distractions, and a way to rededicate myself to my Send Out Cards mission.

The first week we were gone from home was the 2010 Send Out Cards convention in Salt Lake. The convention was Thursday-Saturday. The Wednesday before convention was a treat-em-right, and I attended that with Michele, while Mike visited his family. Lots of motivation and energy the whole weekend long! Below are few photos courtesy of Michele. We welcomed a new team of Eagles (Tommy Wyatt and Curtis Lewsey) making 3 eagles in SOC now. Kody gave away his Aston Martin for keeps. There were other prizes including a Mercedes, and a Mustang convertible. Guest Speakers included Supermodel Kathy Ireland (who has started her own 1.4 billion dollar company) and Thurl Bailey, an ex-Jazz Basketball player, currently singer/entertainer. He was great. And two make-a-wish kids were awarded their wishes, to nary a dry eye in the house.

The inspiration that the event created was great. They say that people who go to the convention will come back next year with 100 more downline. What a way to plug into your business! I was left with a sense of being a spectator, rather than an active participant, and that is just not my style. So the convention motivated me to re-dedicate myself to my Send Out Cards business and next year I'll be a VIP at the convention, and not be watching from the sidelines.

One thing that is definite in this business is that some days are better than others, another is that those that hang in there will eventually make it. So in a very real sense, everyday requires a form of re-dedication. And when those days come by that you don't do what it takes, then the next day re-dedicate yourself and just maybe it will be one of those great days. What goes up must come down, after day comes night, after a dry spell comes a monsoon. You job is not to let the ups and downs take you out of the game. Rededicate yourself to the best of your ability each day and be steady on your course, you will get to your goals.

I have generated an up-line tree with photos to share on this site, and added a "team resources" page to this blog. Check it out! I hope to add inspirational Calls and Documents that will help your business... And everything in between to help the team!

My favorite thing at the convention was our team meeting. It was just a small group (less than 100) with powerful personal stories that had more impact on me. This Team was anyone Mark Herdering and down. Mark got into the business in it's infancy. He talked to 56 people before the first one, Sarah Basloe, signed up. What made him keep going after 10-20-30-40-55 no's is still amazing to me. I do believe he re-dedicated himself EVERY morning when he got up. Could YOU do that? If you knew (after knowing Mark's story) that eventually you would get that 56th person and she would sign up, and give you financial freedom, to live your life as you want to and give back to others as you would like to... I think you COULD do it. Now my last question. Will you?

Awaiting Convention

Woo Hoo! We are in Salt Lake awaiting Send Out Card's National Convention 2010! We got here Monday, spent the day today visiting Mike's parents/kids/grandkids. And tomorrow are participating in the Salt Lake Treat-em right, to be followed up by the 3 day National Convention! Missed it last year, don't plan to do that again.

Watch this space Friday for more news from the floor of the convention.

In the meantime! Rather than slowing our progress by being out of town, we have stepped it up! On Friday we achieved our goal meeting Chad's contest to do 40 GAW (Gift-account walk-throughs, or demonstrations of the system for laymen) by convention. I realized that the reason I set the goal at 40 was to simultaneously achieve the rolodex award from Jordan Adler, requiring you to complete 100 GAW's. So when I check those statistics in our account I realized we were 10 short.

Having the goal of earning our rolodex award by convention, we stepped up to the plate. We had ranch days this weekend and asked everyone who attended to sign up for a demo before the convention (Wednesday) and if they did so, I would enable them with a one year Gift Account. SO, least you think we were idle here, between the moments with the grandkids, fear not. Mike is right this moments giving our 100th GAW. Double woo-hoo!!!

Look out Jordan! Here we come!

Announcement for Tuesday

Hi again team..

First I want you to know that I will not usually write twice in one week.  In fact some of you probably have not read the first post yet... Still trying to work the bugs out.  So bear with me.

I found lots of motivation in listening to Jordan's call last week and wanted to share that call with you.  If you have not heard it, it is at http://attendthisevent.com/?eventid=14951442 (username "thecoolbuzz" password "thecoolbuzz").  In this call Jordan  interviews the new Eagles in Send out Cards, Tommy Wyatt and Curtis Lewsey.  They are a team in Send Out Cars and only the third to achieve the rank of Eagle in SOC.  He also talks with the two Executive that promoted this week, that put Tommy and Curtis up there.

The other item I wanted to call your attention to is that Tuesday Morning there will be a special team call with new executives, Ricky and Kenton Pass, from Colorado Springs.  The exceptional thing to me about this promotion is that they have not yet been in Send Out Cards a year, they now have over 200 distributors on their team, and they did it while they each ran their own businesses, a construction company and an interior design firm.. They are an amazing inspiration, especially to me since I know them personally.  You are invited to join in the one hour call at 8:30 Mountain Time, Tuesday morning.

These promotions to me signify a strong company in growth mode.  What an exciting time to be getting started in Send Out Cards.  I for one am very excited to attend the national convention next week and help celebrate these friends with their new promotions.

A New Goal of Leadership

I Love Send Out Cards!  You are reading this blog, probably because you are on our Send Out Cards team, or maybe considering being on our team, although this blog is public and open to anyone....  And I hope has valuable information for everyone.

I am starting this blog because I want to be a better leader.  We are managers in Send Out Cards and I thought we would be Senior Managers by this time.  When we became managers, we enrolled all 12 of our downline personally.  I decided at that time that the first step in Send Out Cards (Distributor to Manager) should be spent learning the system, and how to present it to others.  The second step (Manager to Senior Manager) should be spent learning to support your downline and growing depth in your team.  This is the step we are still learning ;-)

Last month I went to a class on doing an online business.  That I guess is a topic for another blog... but somewhere about mid-week, we split up into teams.  Each teams leader had to organize their team and report etc.. and as any good team, the success of each individual was required for the team to be successful.  Our team was sadly lacking a leader.  Heading into day two of the exercise I decided I had better step up, reluctantly, but none the less, my skills were needed.  That is when it hit me, that we all have god given talents that we are supposed to be using.  I have not embraced my leadership skills lately... in fact, Mike and I have been together 10 years now... and one of the very attractive things about him to me was that he took charge and I didn't have to... Hummm, a 10 year laziness it was time to break.

Combine that realization with the topic of the training (blogging, online support), and the fact that Damarr (who is not all that computer literate to me) started a blog this month... The stars were aligned.  Perhaps I could better support our team with a blog.  I also have a new tool to manage email lists, and I intend to email you each time I add a post (just like Damarr!).  If you do not want to receive my emails, please "unsubscribe" on the bottom of the email.

Anyhow, not to make this post much longer.  I hope to share news and motivation for you through this blog.  I plan to include photos of favorite cards (please share yours).  I will tell you of favorite conference calls for those of you that do not catch them all...  And I'll try not to be this wordy ;-), just provide you a way to stay connected.  Send out cards is growing like CRAZY, with 3 new Executive this week and a third Eagle this week.  It's an exciting time to be in SOC and we are excited to "ride it to the top"..  wanna come along?

The news today!  Mike and I are excited to go to the convention in two weeks.  I don't think any of our team are joining us however... I will be sharing the news from Salt Lake (through this blog).  The convention is the premier event of the year for Send Out Cards, and sure to supply a ton of motivation.  I found out this evening that a friend has a spare ticket, for $150 available.  That is less than 1/2 price the ticket price at the door.  If any of you want an impromptu "vacation" in Salt Lake City we'd love to have you join us.
